IATA
IATA, International Air Transport Association, is an international industry trade group of airlines headquartered in Montreal, Canada. IATA’s mission is to represent, lead, and serve the airline industry. IATA was formed on 19 April 1945, in Havana, Cuba. It is the successor to the International Air Traffic Association, founded in The Hague in 1919, the year of the world’s first international scheduled services. One of its core functions was to act as a price setting body for international airfare. IATA aim is to assist airlines by simplifying processes and increasing passenger convenience while reducing costs and improving efficiency.
FIAVET LOMBARDIA
The Association of Travel Agents of Lombardy was born in the late ’40s under the name of ALUV (Associazione Lombarda Uffici Viaggi); in the 60s transformed in ARLIVET (Associazione Regionale Lombarda delle Imprese di Viaggi e Turismo) and then became in 1983, FIAVET Lombardia. The Association., which is the most important representative of the category both for the number of subscribers and for geographical distribution, has for its primary objective the protection of the interests of Travel Agencies and Tourism and the professionalism of the sector.
